Ability: Strength
Athletics measures your ability to perform physically demanding activities including climbing, jumping, running, and swimming. It also covers feats of raw physical power.
Example Uses
- Jump farther than normal
- Stay afloat in rough water
- Break something with brute force
- Climb difficult surfaces
- Swim against strong currents
When to Use Athletics
The GM might call for a Strength (Athletics) check when you attempt to:
- Climb a sheer cliff face
- Jump across a wide chasm
- Swim upstream or in stormy waters
- Break down a door or bust through chains
- Maintain your grip while hanging from a rope
